Marion V. Bloss

Marion V. Bloss, 95, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Country Meadows. Born: October 11, 1912 in Coffeetown, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Simeon and Margaret Dugan Hockman. Her husband Matthew W., died in 2002. Personal: She was a 1931 graduate of Easton High School and matriarch of the Hockman Family, which recently celebrated its 31st annual reunion. She also volunteered for the 3rd Street Alliance, Meals on Wheels, March of Dimes and PTA. She taught Sunday school for 45 years, sang in the choir for 35 years and was very active on various committees and church groups. She was a past -president of the LCW. She was also a past-president of the Cosmopolitan Club. Memberships: She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Easton, where she was baptized in 1913 and confirmed in 1928. Survivors: 4 grandchildren, Crystal, Tedder, Cheryl, and Troy Cawley; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Taylor Ann, Emmett, Anna Rose and Katie. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Cawley Reis in 2000 and siblings, Elroy, Elvin, Edgar, Ervin, Harold, Clyde, Ken, Evelyn, Esther, and Alma. Services: 10am Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 11th and Ferry Sts., Easton. Call 6-7:30pm, Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton. Memorials: To the church, 1100 Ferry St., Easton, Pa 18042.
